Deciding where to host your wedding is one of the most important and costly decisions that you make when it comes to planning your big day. Ireland plays host to an array of beautiful and luxurious wedding venues, providing you with plenty of options for where to celebrate. From impressive country homes to something your guests probably haven’t seen before, we have compiled a list of our top spots across the country.

Virginia Park Lodge

Virginia Park Lodge  is a 100 acre private estate set in the Co. Cavan countryside. The estate, voted Country House of the Year 2018 by the Georgina Campbell Ireland Guide, has been restored by Michelin Chef and restaurateur Richard Corrigan, who was married there himself. The venue caters for weddings of almost any size, with the banquet room suitable for gatherings of up to 90 people and the marquee overlooking the lake holding up to 300. Guests can expect a menu full of fresh, seasonal produce; most of which is grown on the property, making this the perfect venue for a couple of foodies.

Kilruddery House & Gardens

Kilruddery House & Gardens is a beautiful venue, just beyond Bray in Co. Wicklow. The property boasts a variety of different spaces which could be used on your special day.  The Library, Drawing Room or Dining Room are available for the drinks reception, whilst the show-stopping Orangery can be used to hold the ceremony. The Grain Store, a 19th century barn conversion, accommodates up to 160 guests and is the perfect space for dining and dancing. The property’s formal gardens are particularly impressive and would make a great backdrop for pictures on your big day.

Ballyfin Demesne

Recipient of an impressive array of awards, including the Travel & Leisure Awards #1 Hotel Resort in Europe 2018, it’s no surprise that Ballyfin Demesne is one of the most spectacular wedding venues in Ireland. The property, situated in Co. Laois, can accommodate weddings of various sizes.  The Van Der Hagen Room holds up to 20 guests, the State Dining Room up to 70 and the impressive ballroom up to 130. The 615 acre estate also boasts a church, lake, fountains and a 14-metre swimming pool; guaranteeing that guests are not short of things to do the day after the festivities.

La Peniche

For the couple looking for something completely different, the canal cruise boat, La Peniche, is a great option. Moored on the Grand Canal alongside Mespil Road, this unique venue offers a memorable experience, suitable for an intimate gathering of your closest friends and family. Couples can choose between a sit down meal or buffet option and are free to decorate the boat to add a more personal touch.
